Cameo Critic: John Legend

Last update: January 18, 2008 - 4:26 PM

Grammy-winning soul man John Legend talks about his three favorite old-school albums.

"I love 'The Nina Simone Anthology.' I listen to that all the time. She's got one of the most magical voices that I've ever heard. So distinctive, so powerful -- raw, intense and beautiful. 'Grace' by Jeff Buckley. I think he's my favorite singer ever. Such an emotional and exciting voice to listen to. 'Talking Book' by Stevie Wonder. I love that whole era where Stevie's looking so forward for soul music. His songwriting is gorgeous, the arrangements are gorgeous. He played every instrument himself. It's just really beautiful stuff."
