Eight centuries and a handful of countries is a lot of territory to cover in music, but count on the12-voice Rose Ensemble to do it beautifully. This choral program, subtitled "Feasts and Saints in Early Russia, Ukraine, Poland & Bohemia," promises chants, hymns, Russian Orthodox motets and carols. Sounds likely to combine the heartfelt and heartwarming with the ethereal. This concert draws music from two Rose CDs -- "Fire of the Soul" and "Slavic Holidays." One update this year is the inclusion of additional Czech and Ukrainian-language pieces.
