The Foo Fighters will kick off their fall tour at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul on Sept. 14 with Rise Against and Mariachi el Bronx supporting. Tickets will go on sale June 4 at prices to be announced. Prices on their May trek are in the way-reasonable $25-$50 range. Check the band's site for pre-sale options.

Mostly all family men now, the Foo dudes have scaled back on their tour plans behind the new album "Wasting Light," with just those couple weeks in May and a couple more in September now on the books along with a European trek over the summer. They are also expected to finally fulfill their promise to play some local fan's garage before the St. Paul gig, as was previously announced in conjunction with a 93X contest.

On a related note (since the bands have similar audiences): Pearl Jam just announced a two-night stand over Labor Day weekend at Alpine Valley Amphitheater in Troy, Wisc. The Sept. 3-4 shows are to mark the band's 20th anniversary. Yes, you're getting old. There's also a new Cameron Crowe-directed documentary on the band due out around the same time. Click here for more details. Alpine Valley is about a seven-hour drive from the Twin Cities.
