Those other Jersey boys are coming to the Twin Cities: Bon Jovi will perform March 18 at Xcel Energy Center as part of the Lost Highway World Tour. The 10-country tour opened Thursday with the first of 10 shows in Newark, N.J.
Now arguably bigger than Jersey hero Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi is promoting its first foray into country music, "Lost Highway," which was released on a Nashville label but sounds pretty rock 'n' roll to longtime Bon Jovi fans and found its way to No. 1 on Billboard's pop album chart.
No word on an opening act for St. Paul; for the New Jersey run, openers include Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson, All American Rejects and My Chemical Romance.
Ticket details for the Xcel concert will be announced soon.
Coincidentally, a touring production of the Broadway musical "Jersey Boys" -- about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons -- will open at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis the night after Bon Jovi rocks St. Paul.
