Who's up, who's down in Hollywood?

Last update: July 24, 2008 - 5:52 PM

Who's up

It's a dubious list to head, but Vince Vaughn has been named by Forbes magazine as the best value for a studio's money. Basically, it means he's vastly underpaid. The rest of the (admittedly pretty successful) suckers: Tobey Maguire, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Naomi Watts, Matt Damon, George Clooney, Jennifer Aniston, Hugh Jackman and Ben Stiller. Vaughn also ranks among Hollywood's top bachelors, placing fifth in a poll by TV's "The Insider." Caution, ladies: Don't look for Vince to be your meal ticket.

Who's down

Ben Lyons of E! Entertainment and Ben Mankiewicz of Turner Classic Movies will bear the weighty burden of carrying on the Siskel/Ebert/Roeper tradition as hosts of the revamped "At the Movies." After first Roeper, then Ebert, cut ties with the venerable show because of Disney's planned changes (including elimination of the "across the aisle" format), the two Bens were recruited to step in. Who are these guys, and why do we care what they think?
