“I hope that I won’t be telling a joke that makes me laugh and makes everybody else uncomfortable,” although there is plenty of gross, politically incorrect humor in “A Haunted House 2.”

“Believe it or not, as uncomfortable and crazy as this movie can be, there’s a lot of stuff where we said, ‘Nah, too much. That takes it to a weird place.’ We thought it was funny because comedians are dark people.

“Sometimes you get more out of hitting it quick than drilling into the nerve. You make product for customers. My job is to make you laugh, make you leave your brain at home. It’s not time to think. Be a kid and don’t be ashamed to laugh at something silly, something scatological. That’s what I’m about, and I hope I’m getting better.”

REVIEW: Imagine a Venn diagram charting three qualities: silly, gross and dumb. At the point where they overlap, you will find the fright film spoof “A Haunted House 2."

  • Gabriel Iglesias and Marlon Wayans in “A Haunted House 2.”
