'THE LEGEND OF HERCULES'

If you've been feeling that there just aren't enough loincloths in movies these days, buck up. "The Legend of Hercules" (PG-13 for sequences of intense combat action and violence, and for some sensuality) is oiling up its torso and coming to a theater near you. The film stars Kellan Lutz's pectoral muscles and focuses on the demigod's early years. As "Twilight" saga co-star Lutz put it, "Our character goes through being lovestruck and then heartbroken and then anguish and loneliness, sadness and remorse," which is pretty much everyone's checklist for a Hercules movie. Judging by the trailer (the film wasn't screened for critics), they've stolen the fight choreography from the "Matrix" movies, the costumes from "300" and the plot from "Gladiator." We'll post a review at startribune.com/movies as soon as we can.
