Following a $2 million, six-month renovation, the Uptown Theatre reopens today with "Sleepwalk With Me."
Writer/director/star Mike Birbiglia and writer/producer Ira Glass, host of public radio's "This American Life," will host Q & A sessions following this weekend's matinee and evening showings. Glass will attend all of Friday screenings, Birbiglia all of Saturday's, and they will co-host Saturday at 7:15 and 10 p.m. Tickets are $8-$12.50 for this and all Uptown shows.
Uptown updates include:
• New seating throughout the theater with more width and legroom.
• Two-seat sofas in the balcony.
• Reserved seating.
• Automated ticketing in the lobby and online at landmarktheatres.com/tickets/default.asp.
• Health-conscious concessions and specialty snacks.
• Full-service lobby and mezzanine bars featuring local wines and beers for consumption in the auditorium.
• Entryway LED screens displaying films and showtimes.
