Hey, Johnny, your head's on fire.
"Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance"
If you're going to make a movie about a guy on a motorcycle and his head is a skull on fire, the best creative team you could hope for is directing duo Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. They're the gleefully entertaining sociopaths responsible for the frenzied and hilarious "Crank" franchise. (They also wrote the dreadful "Jonah Hex," but that one appeared to have self-destructed somewhere between script and screen, so, free pass.) In "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance", Nicolas Cage returns as undead chopper pilot Johnny Blaze, but in all other regards, the film is reported to be a complete do-over. With the estimable Ciaran Hinds as the Devil, Idris Elba as a motorcycle-riding monk and the consciousness-altering Neveldine/Taylor sensibility infusing the action, our usual skepticism about movies withheld from the press before opening day is on hold.
