Free movie at the library Sunday

"Dreamgirls," the 2006 film starring Jennifer Hudson, will be shown Jan. 3 as part of the Reel to Reel series at the Minneapolis Central Library.

"Dreamgirls," the 2006 film starring Jennifer Hudson, will be shown Jan. 3 as part of the Reel to Reel series at the Minneapolis Central Library.

The free screening will be shown at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010. The series partners with Hennepin Theatre Trust to show movies linked to theatre productions. The movie stars Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy, Jennifer Hudson and Beyonce Knowles.

Free refreshments will be provided. Attendees have a chance to win tickets to an upcoming Broadway show. "Dreamgirls," the musical, will be at the Orpheum Jan. 12-17.

On Jan. 31, the 1974 Mel Brooks film "Young Frankenstein" will be shown at the library.
