FOLKWAYS of the holidays

Leave behind the hustle and bustle of modern times to reconnect with family members and friends in quaint surroundings.

Friday night is Folkways by Candlelight, where guests meet with costumed residents who share traditions in their homes. See the Christmas pageant in the Town Hall and listen to the tunes of Butternut Squash. The remainder of the weekend, costumed residents lead tours and share 19th-century traditions. View folk art performances or ride in a horse-drawn trolley. On Saturday, visit with Santa Claus and see reindeer. Curtis and Loretta perform folk music next Sunday. (5-8:30 p.m. Fri. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sat.; 11 a.m.-4 p.m. next Sun. $3-$5. The Landing, 2187 E. Hwy. 101, Shakopee. 763-559-6700. www.threeriversparkdistrict.org.)
