Seven-years-olds Grace Moore and Taylor Cracraft of Fridley dumped a bowl of grain into a bag after it had been separated using a 1856 horse powered threshing machine at Kelley Farm in Elk River Sunday as part of their threshing festival.
Help bring in the grain as the early settlers did. Assist Kelley farmhands as they transport grain bundles from the field with oxen. Earn a little sweat equity by hauling bundles and bagging grain at the 1856 horse-powered threshing machine and stacking the straw.
Celebrate the summer with the farmers and townsfolk of Eagle Creek. Play games, view farm and craft exhibits and visit soldiers from the Fifth Minnesota Infantry. Take a ride on a trolley pulled by Percheron draft horses.
