Sixty types of wine will be offered at numerous locations around Target Field for the Twins' inaugural season, a concessions official said Thursday.

Pete Spike, in charge of concessions at Target Field for Delaware North Cos. Sportservice, said wine will be sold at five locations for now: the Town Ball Tavern, Hrbek's, the Legends Club, the Champions Club and the Metropolitan Club.

Spike said his company "is still exploring the option" of serving wine in mini-bottles as a standard concession next to beer, peanuts and the rest.

In previous years at the Metrodome, wine has had a much more modest presence, said team spokesman Chris Iles said.

He said wine was sold in the Dome's Mirassou Winery Sunroom, which he described as being in a "tucked away" location. At times, the room was used to host former athletes and authors during appearances.

Spike added that on occasion there would be a few carts offering wine at the Dome as well.
