Rock shows and spaghetti

Minneapolis' newest rock club is kicking into high gear with its first weekend of public shows. Located in the former La Bodega space at the corner of Lyn-Lake, Sauce Spirits & Soundbar has a stage in the front and an Italian eatery in the back. Tonight's bands include Guystorm, Economy Team and Military Special. The Saturday show features Two Harbors, Mercurial Rage, Mood Swings and more. The music calendar on Sauce's MySpace page lists concerts all the way through late October. Look for upcoming shows by the Alarmists, Black Blondie and Heiruspecs.

'We are gonna party like it's 1491'

Those are the words of American Indian comedian Marc Yaffee, who will bring his particular brand of comedy to the Burnsville Performing Arts Center this weekend. The East L.A. comedian just shot the "Goin' Native Indian Comedy Slam," which will air on Showtime later this year. Yaffee's jokes tend to point out the obvious, but with biting wit. An example: When a white guy told him that all minorities should go back to their own countries, he responded, "Sir, I'm Native American, I'm in my own country."

8 p.m. today, 7:30 and 10 p.m. Sat. 12600 Nicollet Av., Burnsville. $15. 952-895-4685. www.minnehahacomedyclub.com.

Love your BFF

The ninth annual Bicycle Film Festival will travel to 39 cities this year, but organizers say Minneapolis is one of its top five stops. The Minneapolis festival started on Wednesday with a concert and screenings. It continues this weekend with movies at the Cedar Cultural Center. At 9 p.m. today, be sure to check out "Down By the Weep Hole: The Story of the Stuporbowl," which documents the rise of the wild alley-cat race that takes over Minneapolis' frozen streets each winter. The Nomad hosts the after-party.

Today-Sun. Screenings at the Cedar Cultural

Center, 416 Cedar Av. S., Mpls. $8. 612-338-2674. www.bicyclefilmfestival.com.
