Betty Danger's goes Mexampton

The latest grown-up playland disguised as a restaurant from Leslie Bock of Psycho Suzi's and Donny Dirk's is officially here. Betty Danger's Country Club — a self-described "country club on crack"— opened last week at the site of the original Psycho Suzi's in northeast Minneapolis. Although the lights to Betty's conspicuous Ferris wheel are on, riders will have to wait until spring for that carnivalesque dining/drinking experience — ditto the inaugural round of mini golf on the 8½-hole course. Until then, sip a cocktail with "Mexampton" fare — a mashup of Mexican cuisine, comfort food and presumably whatever it is people eat in the Hamptons — which ranges from tacos to pot pie.

New Year's Eve again

When the bar's nine-deep with bad-tipping partyers, New Year's Eve isn't too fun for service-industry staffers. So for those who were stuck working (or anyone who wants to do it all again) the Pourhouse and GenerationNOW offer a NYE-style night out Sunday. The belated Make Believe It's NYE Bash features music from DJs Mad Mardigan, Ben Quam and Dudley D and a $40 open bar option.
