Nightlife notebook: Tromapalooza in the house

If you dig the wacky, the weird and the macabre, then you must be at Tromapalooza this weekend. The folks behind Troma Entertainment, the film company that gave the world "The Toxic Avenger," are sponsoring this two-day fest, which includes music, film and other strange art, at Loring Park restaurant Nick and Eddie. Punk band Faggot headlines Saturday's show, which takes place in the adjacent alley. Other bands include Brother and Sister, Sam Planet, Sirens of Titan, Rock 'n' Roll Whores, Bloody Turncoats and Bernie the Trailer Park Queen. Expect appearances by such Troma regulars as Lung Leg, Scarlet Salem, Nicola Fiore and the Toxic Avenger himself. There will also be a screening of Troma's 1986 camp classic "Class of Nuke 'Em High." Buzz-worthy DJ duo the Moon Goons celebrate the one-year anniversary of their monthly residency (called Honeymoon) at First Ave with a big party tonight in the VIP room. DJs Jonathan Ackerman and Josh Clancy will be joined by the guys behind First Ave's Get Cryphy night, resulting in a electro-hip-hop-disco-house showdown. House music producer Kaskade is back again, this time touring behind his new album "Strobelite Seduction."
