More than 16 new food items, six of which are on a stick, and new attractions join the lineup for Minnesota State Fair attractions for 2011.
There will be at least six new on-a-stick snacks joining the Minnesota State Fair lineup when the fair opens next week, according to a list released Thursday.
After munching through the Breakfast Lollipop (a sausage patty dipped in corn muffin batter, deep fried, and served on-a stick), chocolate-covered jalapeno peppers on-a-stick, Northwoods Salad on-a-stick (mozzarella cheese, basil and grape tomatoes with wild rice salad), or pizza kabobs on-a-stick, fairgoers will have options to participate in the new giant karaoke-style sing along or watch rescued animal shelter dogs perform in the new Doggies of the Wild West frontier-themed stunt show.
State Fair admission costs $9 in advance or $12 at the door. New this year, all active, retired and veteran U.S. Military Service members will be admitted to the fair for $7 on Aug. 30 for Military Appreciation Day. The discount will extend to immediate family for active military members.
