It looks like a good week for the resurging Visage nightclub, which is tucked between stadium construction and Interstate 394 in downtown Minneapolis. First up is something a little bit different for hip-hop fans: a performance Saturday by the man called "Mozart gone hip-hop," pianist David Sides. Get this: He reinterprets rap and R&B hits on his piano. Check out his renditions of songs by Kanye West, Akon, T-Pain and more at www.myspace.com/davidsides, which also links to his YouTube page. Part of the proceeds will go to local charities. (10 p.m. Sat. 400 3rd Av. N., Mpls. $10. 21 & older. 612-455-2525. www.visagenightclub. com). Second, Ja Rule will host a party at the club Wednesday night. While not billed as a full concert, the gravelly voiced rapper is expected to do a few songs. The former chart-topper disappeared for a couple years after a beef with 50 Cent but he's back with a new album, "The Mirror." (9 p.m. Wed. $25. 21 & older.)
Cool bar alert
It's finally here: The Red Stag Supperclub is now open for business in northeast Minneapolis. The people behind Bryant-Lake Bowl and Cafe Barbette have been working hard on this baby for a long time. While they're describing it as a contemporary supper club, it sounds like the place will have plenty of bar action, too (lots of taps and plenty of good bottles). The spot will be open until 2 a.m. every day, with weekly live music and DJs on Fridays and Saturdays. The music will start next weekend. The Red Stag is also the first LEED-certified bar/restaurant in Minnesota. Huh? It means they're super green-friendly. So now you can drink beer and feel good about yourself at the same time. The Kid is back
If anybody can throw a good party, it's the legendary Kid Capri. The Bronx-born DJ returns to Minneapolis for a big set at Trocaderos. (10 p.m. Fri. 107 3rd Av. N., Mpls. $20. 21 & older. 612-465-0440. www.trocaderos.com)
