The award for this week's best show name goes to: "I am MPLS!" As the title suggests, the all-in-one event is just another reminder to be proud of the talented artistic scenes bubbling up throughout Minneapolis. Taking place Thursday at the Fine Line, the show brings together tastemakers from local music, comedy and fashion. On the music front, the show is headlined by indie-rock buzz band Red Pens and the electronic multimedia specialists behind Estate. Comedians Andy Erikson and Amber Preston will provide the night's jokes. The show's producer is Sarah Edwards, who's done a smart thing with the modeling portion of "I am MPLS!" Instead of hiring skinny toothpicks, she's drafted two dozen creative types -- singers, artists, bartenders and media personalities -- to hit the runway wearing Twin Cities boutique fashions. My only question about "I am MPLS!": Is St. Paul invited? (7 p.m. Thu. 318 1st Av. N., Mpls. $10-$15 (VIP $30). 612-338-8100. www.iammpls.com.)

King of snark 2.0 The man behind Comedy Central's hit show, "Tosh.0" is the type of comedian you either love or hate. No casual appreciation here. Apparently a lot of people in the Twin Cities love Daniel Tosh. His two Saturday shows at the State Theatre are nearly sold out. While his Internet-video-bashing show at first came off like a poor man's version of E!'s "The Soup," it's now a ratings leader -- even besting "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report." (7:30 and 10:30 p.m. Sat. 805 Hennepin Av. S., Mpls. $37.50. 1-800-982-2787. www.hennepintheatretrust.org.)

DJ nights The Twin Cities' longest-running bhangra/Bollywood dance night (not that they have a lot of competition) will celebrate its six-year anniversary at Envy. As usual, DJ Nittin and DJ Amit headline Bhangra Chick, pumping out Indian jams mixed with a little bit of hip-hop. (10 p.m. Fri. 400 1st Av. N., Mpls. 1-877-246-4588. www.nashaonline.com.)

Mike 2600 is a frequent collaborator at First Avenue's various dance nights, and now he's started his own with Extra Large, taking place in the upstairs Record Room. Mike will be joined each month by a special guest -- this Friday's being Brother Ali's right-hand man, BK-One. (10 p.m. Fri. 701 N. 1st St., Mpls. $3/$5. 18 and older. 612-332-1775. www.first-avenue.com.)
