Muhammet Bilik, who dresses up as Mr. Incredible on Hollywood Boulevard, was sentenced to one day in jail, three years probation, community service and anger management classes after pleading no contest to one count of battery, the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office announced Tuesday.

Video of an Oct. 22 tussle between Bilik and Batgirl was broadcast by several news outlets. It showed someone in a Chewbacca costume attempting to stop the brawl, which ended with Mr. Incredible body-slamming a woman dressed as Batgirl onto the sidewalk.

Los Angeles city attorney Mike Feuer said Bilik's conviction is part of an effort to crack down on violent incidents on Hollywood Boulevard. Over the past six months, city prosecutors have secured convictions in seven cases involving costumed characters, he said.

Hollywood Boulevard is famous around the globe and attracts millions of visitors each year. We must keep it safe," he said. "The characters who interact with children and family along Hollywood Boulevard have to obey the law."

Turf wars between costumed characters have been known to erupt in the past and the fight involving Bilik prompted City Councilman Mitch Farrell to call for regulating activity on the popular tourist strip.

In 2010, officials considered requiring the characters to obtain permits, but ultimately decided against it.
