Pen Pal Lecture Series includes Tim O'Brien and Tony Kushner

The 11th annual Pen Pal Lecture Series has announced its slate of authors for this season's lecture series.

• Michael Beschloss, author of nine histories and biographies about American presidents, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, and 11 a.m. Sept. 26.

• Memoirist Alexandra Fuller, who wrote, "Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight: An African Childhood," will be here Oct. 23 and 24.

• Playwright Tony Kushner, author of "Angels in America," Dec. 11 and 12.

• Minnesota native Tim O'Brien, author of "Going After Cacciato," which won the National Book Award, and "The Things They Carried," March 19 and 20.

• Richard Russo, author of "Bridge of Sighs" and the best-selling "Empire Falls," which won the 2002 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, May 14 and 15.
