ACCESSORIES MAKE THE MAN

The drink

Vodka martini, of course, shaken not stirred. Why? Done properly, "the ice fiercely chills the liquor without diluting it." A flourish with the martini is pepper, "cracked not ground," leaving a few grains to float on the frigid surface while the descending grains flavor the drink.

The ride

The legendary V12 Aston-Martin DB5 Coupe long has been associated with Bond, but it was merely provided to him by Q, an MI6 armorer. James' private vehicle is the "Locomotive" (his name), a 1954 Mark II Bentley Continental convertible fitted with an Arnott supercharger controlled by a magnetic clutch. Gas mileage? You jest.

The smoke

Our man smokes cigarettes hand-rolled for him in London in batches of 500 by Morland's, with the distinctive three golden bands on the filter. The blend is a Balkan-Sobranie mixture, which is exceptionally rich and smooth.
