Newly arrived for new arrivals

After an appropriate gestation period, St. Paul -based Celine Countryman has produced Baby Baby, a luxe baby memory book with journal and album pages for recording all of Junior's firsts.

The all-Minnesota production was designed by Three Fish Design and bound by Midwest Editions, both of Minneapolis. The book's gender-bending mint green cover is bound with chocolate brown Japanese satin cloth. It comes in an archival box, tied with a ribbon; the album's design allows expansion for the contents in its keepsake envelopes. Big-tent phrasing makes it relevant to families who don't use traditional terms such as mom and dad, as well. $75 at several Twin Cities retailers; see a storefinder at www.celinecountryman.com.

Tied and tidy

If the fly-fishing enthusiast in your house can't seem to keep his (or her) lures from migrating into the kitchen junk drawer and other misdirected locations, take heart.

The Book of Flies from Rustico promises instant organization (and quite possibly domestic tranquility).

The 3- by 6-inch leather portfolio wraps shut and opens to hold as many as 20 tied flies on a flat felt background. It's for anglers who fish barbless -- those hooks won't snag on the felt liner -- and who prefer the look of an old-time, leather fly wallet. Available in saddle, dark brown and black, $16. On an organizational roll? There's a leather Fly Fishing Log, too, for recording info about the big one you let get away; $34. Grand Hand Gallery, 619 Grand Av., St. Paul; 651-312-1122.
