Maybe I'm twisted and weird, but if I am so are a lot of other people, too. I loved Jon Klassen's 2011 picture book, "I Want My Hat Back," despite--oh, heck, because of--its surprising and audacious ending. I know I'm not alone; it was a best-seller and won a Theodore Seuss Geisesl Honor Award. And when I saw that Klassen had a new hat-related book out this month, I had to stop sorting the thousands of books in my book room and sit down and read the new book, start to finish.

Which only takes a few minutes, because it is, of course, a picture book for children.

Klassen's first book stars a bear who has lost his little red pointy hat and who wanders through the forest, asking various animals if they know where his hat is.

His new book stars a fish who finds a lovely blue derby and swims off with it on his head, even though it doesn't belong to him.

That's all I'll tell you. It'll only take you a minute to read the book and laugh for yourself.

Or let Klassen read it to you! He'll be at Wild Rumpus Bookstore, 2720 W. 43rd St. in Minneapolis at 1 p.m. on Sunday, reading and signing books.
