Former Gov. Jesse Ventura, who retreated from the limelight after finishing his term in 2002, comes out of hibernation next week to promote his new book, "Don't Start the Revolution Without Me!" (with Dick Russell, Skyhorse, 312 pages, $24.95). The four-stop book tour begins April 2 with events in Santa Monica and West Hollywood, Calif., continues with an event in Clifton, N.J., and concludes in his home state.
In the book, Ventura hints at a presidential run and reprises some familiar beefs (against journalists, organized religion, big business and Democratic and Republican "cowards"). He also tells of "one of the strangest experiences of my life": A meeting in the State Capitol basement, soon after he took office, with 23 CIA agents who wanted to know how "the independent wrestler candidate pulled this off."
Ventura, who has been living somewhere on the Baja Peninsula with his wife, Terry, will sign books at 7 p.m. May 16 at Barnes & Noble, 8040 Wedgewood Lane, Maple Grove.
