Set list & more thoughts on Pink at Target Center

Usually, the first time is better. The element of surprise, the wow factor, all those things.

But as I stated in my review, Pink was so much better the second time around, that is Tuesday at sold-out Target Center vs last March at Xcel Energy Center. And that first show was the best concert of 2013.

A key was dropping the conceit that her presentation was a hokey TV game show. That made the production tighter. She also dropped three songs – How Come You’re Not Here, Family Portrait and the second encore Glitter in the Air with its spectacular production.  That trimmed the show to about 95 minutes.

Pink apologized for having to postpone this show in November but she didn’t dwell on it. She seemed genuinely enthusiastic accepting gifts (see the quilt above), shaking hands and signing autographs – including a body part for a tattoo and an old photo (“How old am I in that photo? I was still smiling so about 4.”) Funny stuff. That was right after she said she’s sophisticated and classy so the fans have to carry her F-bombs on “Bleepin’ Perfect.”

Here is what Pink performed at Target Center:

Raise Your Glass/ Walk of Shame/ Just Like a Pill/ U + Ur Hand/ Leave Me Alone/ Try/ Wicked Game (Chris Isaak)/ Just Give Me a Reason/ Trouble/ Are Well All We Are/ Sober/ The Great Escape/ acoustic set Who Knew/ Bleepin Perfect/ back to full band medley Most Girls > There You Go > Make Me Sick/ Slut Like You/ Blow Me (One Last Kiss) ENCORE So What
