Arcade Fire coming March 8 to Target Center

After two prior gigs at the cavernous Roy Wilkins Auditorium, Arcade Fire will finally make the leap to a bigger and just slightly better venue: Target Center.

The Canadian indie-rock heroes list a March 8 date at Target Center on a new 2014 tour itinerary issued today. Minneapolis will only be the second stop on the band’s “Reflektor” tour, which will start March 6 in Kentucky. Tickets go on sale next Friday, Nov. 22, at 10 a.m. and will be priced $70.50 for the general-admission floor -- a must in this case -- and $50.50 and $30.50 for reserved seats. Pre-sale options will be offered via the band's site, and the general on-sale will be through AXS.com or the arena's box office.

The tour -- set to run through August -- also includes an April 26 date at Starlight Amphitheater in Kansas City, which Twin Cities fans might consider worth a road-trip for a chance to see the band perform outside. Not much of a road-hound band, Win Butler and the gang typically only come around once per album.

Issued two weeks ago, "Reflektor" (the band's fourth album) is a sprawling 75-minute epic heavily spiked with disco-y dance grooves, which were enhanced with the help of co-producer James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem fame. The band played a few small one-off gigs in smaller venues last month, which were widely praised by critics and fans.
