Fresh from holing up at the Sims family cabin again to record another all-crew album, Doomtree announced details of their ninth annual Blowout concerts this morning. The party will once again take place over three nights at First Avenue, Dec. 13-15 (a Friday through a Sunday), the first night of which will be 21-and-older. The other two are 18-plus.

Tickets go on sale Friday at noon through First Ave outlets for $17. Or you can also buy them in person from Doomtree members themselves at their usual pre-Blowout meet-up Sunday 2-4 p.m. at the Depot Tavern next door to First Ave. A limited number of $45 three-night passes will also be available. Pre-sale access codes were emailed out to fans on Doomtree's list this morning.

No opening acts have been announced yet, but there will be different ones each night. The crew did already pick four charities to donate proceeds from each gig: Tubman Center, Southside Family Nurturing Center, Kicker Project and the True Food Council.

A separate announcement on a special all-ages Blowout concert is also expected next week.

As always, the concerts will be a year-end reunion of sorts for the Doomtree bunch, who -- aside from the recording session a couple weeks ago (for an album next year) -- have been off working individually. Dessa is on tour through November promoting her 2013 album “Parts of Speech.” Sims and Mike Mictlan also have random gigs booked in the weeks leading up to Blowout 9. P.O.S. will also be out on the road with Marijuana Deathsquads -- which serves as a reminder that he’s doing much better with his daily dialysis treatments compared to this time last year (when he had to drop out of the Blowouts after the first night). He's finally due for his kidney transplant early next year.

SOMETHING ELSE TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN DECEMBER: The CC Club announced details of its 80th anniversary concerts. Well, some of the details. The shows are scheduled Dec. 6-7, and six bands are booked for each night. The lineup is being kept under wraps, however. Organizers are only saying they have “a variety of local headlining acts, which have -- and continue to -- put Minneapolis’ music scene on the map.” Let the guessing begin (but don’t get too lofty with your ideas). Tickets go on sale at the fabled Lyndale Ave watering hole next Wednesday, Nov. 6, at noon and will only be available at the bar for $20, proceeds of which will go toward the Bridge for Youth homeless program.
