The Albuquerque Journal broke with tradition today and ran an obituary of a fictional person -- one who was remembered for having "founded a meth manufacturing empire" and died of "a gunshot wound" following "a long battle with lung cancer."

Viewers of the AMC series "Breaking Bad," which was based in Albuquerque, will immediately recognize the deceased as the show's lead character, Walter White, played by actor Bryan Cranston.

The obit was actually an ad placed by an Albuquerque-based Facebook fan group, the Unofficial Breaking Bad Fan Tour, in response to the show's bloody finale this past Sunday. It ran on page A4 of today's Journal. Very cute.
