What are Twin Cities classic- and hard-rock fans to do this summer? It sure seems like the only acts getting booked for warm-weather concerts this year are pop and country (see: Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, One Direction, Kenny Chesney, New Kids on the Block). Have no fear, though, the ever-popular -- and no-duhly named -- Rock Fest in Cadott, Wis., and the competing Moondance Jam in Walker, Minn., are coming through for you wannabe rockers. Especially fans of Mötley Crüe and the Offspring. Here’s what each fest has announced so far:

ROCK FEST (July 18-21)

The lineup looks like a repeat of last year’s Kiss/Crüe headliner gig at the Minnesota State Fair, except the bands are playing on separate nights. Kiss headlines the thickly if a bit weirdly stacked Saturday bill, also featuring Megadeth, Stone Sour, Warrant and Hellyeah. The Crüe headlines Sunday with Whitesnake and Skillet. Korn is also booked for Friday with the Offspring and Theory of a Deadman. Thursday will feature Seether, Halestorm, All That Remains and a headliner to be announced. Details at www.rock-fest.com

MOONDANCE JAM (July 18-20)

The Crüe headlines the Thursday, July 18, lineup with special openers Cheap Trick. Unlike the Crue, the Trick are way overdue to perform their own headlining show in the Cities. Saturday’s lineup has also been partially released with -- guess who? -- the Offspring and Theory of a Deadman. Stay tuned for Friday’s headliner. Details at www.moondancejam.com.

Meanwhile, Rush fans might be heading over to Summerfest, the weeklong bash in Milwaukee that always puts Twin Cities’ summer music offerings to shame -- although their other headliners announced this year leave a little to be desired (New Kids , Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean). There should be more big names announced soon at www.summerfest.com.
