No cheesy disco lights or schmaltzy Huey Lewis tunes were involved in this week's performance by Nick Mrozinski (aka Nicholas David) on "The Voice," and not surprisingly it turned out to be the Twin Cities singer's most stellar performance and easiest win on the hit NBC-TV music competition.

The Eagan-based father of two -- triply known as Nick "The Feelin'" in the local music scene -- sat down at a piano and bellowed out a stirring version of the Bill Withers classic "Lean on Me" complete with a gospel choir on Monday night's show. Here's a clip of the rousing vocal workout posted below. You can also download it as a single via iTunes. It was reminiscent of his winning audition performance from way back, with Ben E. King's "Stand By Me." The dude's a natural for the inspirational stuff.

Just a third of the way into last night's show, Nick was voted on to next week and a top-8 ranking. The show's celebrity coaches all gushed over his showing, especially his own team leader, Cee-Lo Green, who said he sounded like "the voice of a generation." Surely he's at least good-to-go for the show's final rounds, right? Let's hope so.
