Hubbard's Dan Seeman (left) accepts the Marconi Awards' biggest honor from NAB's president Gordon Smith.
Hubbard Broadcasting may be losing the Minnesota Twins, but the St. Paul-based company gained a lot of respect by doing extremely well at the 2012 Marconi Awards, the National Association of Broadcasters' version of the Oscars.
KSTP-FM, a 46-year-old station that currently broadcasts adult contemporary music, was named the Legendary Station of the Year award, the last one given out during Thursday night's ceremonies in Dallas.
That station's afternoon team, "Moon and Staci," was named Large Market Personality of the Year.
WTOP, Washington DC's all-news station that was recently acquired by Hubbard, took home honors for Major Market Station of the Year and News/Talk Station of the Year.
"It was quite a thrill," said Dan Seeman, vice president and market manager for Hubbard Radio.
Sports hosts Dan Patrick and Mike Francesa were among the evening's other winners.
