Cocktails with Lou Grant and a Guthrie original

LOS ANGELES--TV critics across the country were invited to check out a new exhibit at the Paley Center that is  close to heaven for television lovers. The Warner Brothers-sponsored display includes Bugs Bunny dolls dressed up by famous designers, the original Central Perk couch from "Friends" and a $250,000 Wonder Woman costume.

There were also some living, breathing history on hand, including Ed Asner, who told me he's getting ready to head back to Broadway with Paul Rudd. Joan Van Ark, who was in the very first production at the Guthrie, reminisced about the time we talked about her days in Minneapolis a few years ago at her gorgeous home. Kind of a kick to see "Big Bang Theory" creator Chuck Lorre check out memorablia from his hit sitcom.

Also had an engaging conversation Monday night with rap artist/actor Common at a poolside party celebrating the second season of "Hell on Wheels." More on that down the line.
