It's been a busy morning for fall concert announcements. Foremost among them – and probably one that will raise a little ire from punk/indie purists – is the news that Johnny Lydon and his reunited Public Image Limited are coming to the public-image-tarnished Mill City Nights on Oct. 22. The corporate operators of the former Brick nightclub clearly nabbed this one away from the folks at First Avenue, which as PiL on its wall. Still, the chance to see ol' Johnny Rotten in action has grown rarer and rarer, so it's a good thing we're getting the tour here at all. Stay tuned for ticket info. You can bet the price won't be cheap (AEG likely bid high to land the group). The Pil 2012 lineup includes 1986+ members Lu Edmonds and Bruce Smith.

On the whole other end of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame spectrum, Art Garfunkel will be playing an intimate show without you-know-who Oct. 27 at the Pantages Theatre. Tickets ($53.50-$68.50) go on sale Friday at 11 a.m.

Also newly announced is the return of Ben Folds Five on Sept. 29 at the Orpheum Theatre. Tickets ($39.50-$59.50) go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. Folds' old group will release its first album in 13 years on Sept. 18. Regina Spektor also has a new Minneapolis date Oct. 18 at the State Theatre. Stay tuned for on-sale info for those tickets ($35.50). Spektor also played the State back in 2009 after Myth nightclub closed, where she was supposed to play.

The State might be the hottest venue in town come September and October, with a calendar that already includes Metric (Sept. 11), David Byrne and St. Vincent (Sept. 15), Silversun Pickups (Sept. 20), Ed Sheeran & Passenger (Sept. 26), Esperanza Spalding (Sept. 30), Vince Gill (Oct. 20) and Jackson Browne (Oct. 28). Oh, and Celtic Thunder, too (Oct. 20).
