Eric Perkins/KARE handout art
When it comes to filling major spots, KARE-Ch. 11 seems content staying with some familiar faces. Just weeks after naming Randy Shaver as lead co-anchor, the station has announced that longtime personality Eric Perkins will take over as the top sports anchor. He will also serve as KARE's sports director.
Perkins has been with the station since 1996; Shaver joined in 1983. The team of Shaver, Perkins and Julie Nelson will officially start after Perkins returns from covering the London Olympics.
