She may have starred in “Strangers with Candy,” but the appearance of Amy Sedaris at MPR’s “Wits” is a reason to meet strangers with hot dogs, tacos and cupcakes. The season finale of the public-radio comedy and music show is sold out, but those who weren’t lucky enough to score tickets can still experience the essence of the five-foot-tall comic storyteller and craft and cookbook author at a pre-show block party. Barrio, NateDogs and Cupcake will truck in their wares to the so-called Tweet Up, while the Brass Messengers, an 11-person parade band, entertains. Attendees have a chance to win tickets to the show, hosted by Jon Moe, where Sedaris is paired with quirky alt-rockers They Might Be Giants. WITS, 7:45 p.m. Sat., Sold out.
