The Twin Cities will be never be mistaken for Hollywood, but that doesn't mean some locals can't contribute to making TV magic. Minneapolis-based composers Brian Casey and Danny Burke are being honored at the ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards ceremony on Thursday for writing the theme song to Discovery Channel's "Alaska: The Last Frontier."

The duo, which also perform in the electronic-dance band Man is Doomed, has previously written themes for MTV's "Parental Control," MTV's "Sex With Mom and Dad" and Discovery's "Wild Russia."

"Writing TV music is not as high profile as being in a band or even writing for film, so it's nice to get some recognition," said Casey, who plans, along with Burke, to be at the presentation in Beverly Hills.

You can catch Man is Doomed at the 331 Club on Friday, July 13. Who knows? Maybe they'll bring their plaque with them.
