Artcrank is basically a culmination of everything us Minnesotans do well – biking, drinking beer and loving art. The "poster party for bike people," as it's called, is back again Saturday with the MSP 2012 edition. The exhibition features hand-crafted, bike-inspired posters designed by 40 Twin Cities artists (right: "Proud Papa" by Tood Zerger). The whole thing kicks off with a big party at Traffic Zone Center for Visual Art, where you can guzzle craft beers by Widmer Brother Brewing (with specialty Artcrank pint glasses) and fill your belly with munchies from various food trucks. The Current will provide the tunes, in addition to a performance by soul rocker Mayda.

If you're riding to the show (why wouldn't you?), Clif Bar and One on One Bicycle Studio will have free valet bike parking. After the opening night party, the exhibition will move to One on One Bike (April 21-May 12). The closing night party will be at Amsterdam Bar & Hall on May 18.

Artcrank started here in 2007, but has since spread to eight other cities across the country. More information here. And check out this awesome video:
