Bone Thugs N Harmony playing separate shows

Posted by: Tom Horgen under Music Updated: March 2, 2012 - 11:42 AM

Call them: Bone Thugs In Disharmony. The speed-rapping, harmonizing Cleveland hip-hop group, Bone Thugs N Harmony, have had a tumultuous couple of years. Members have left the group, been kicked out and then come back all over again. The group was discovered by the late gangsta rap pioneer Eazy-E in the early 1990s. But after last year's dissolution, it seemed like Bone was no more. Its membership status is now more confusing than ever. Three of its core founders are performing in the Twin Cities over the next few days -- but not together.

Krayzie Bone and Wish Bone are performing as Bone Thugs N Harmony at the Cabooze on Wednesday. But before that, Layzie Bone is playing an under-promoted show at Two Stooges Saturday night. (Brian Bell tells me Layzie will be hanging out at his club, the Lounge, Friday night too).

Apparently, Krayzie and Wish left the group last year, which angered Flesh-N-Bone (who was still trying to make the group work with members Layzie Bone and Bizzy Bone). Reports from late last year have Krayzie Bone saying the group will reform in 2012 for a Bone reunion album. Like I said: Confusing.

Whatever the case, here's your chance to see half the group in the Twin Cities over the span of two shows.

Layzie: 10 p.m. Sat., Two Stooges. $22.50-$25.

Krayzie and Wish: 9 p.m. Wed., Cabooze, $15-$20.
