Just two years after their last round of First Avenue gigs, the Black Keys are making the big leap to a local arena: They are booked for Target Center on May 15 with the Arctic Monkeys for openers. Tickets go on sale Jan. 14 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster and will be priced $55 for the general-admission floor and $49 and $39 for seats.

The announcement ends speculation that the Ohio duo – currently gracing the cover of Rolling Stone -- might be a headliner for either First Avenue's inaugural summer festival in July or the new Live Nation-produced fest on Harriet Island in June. With their expanded four-man lineup, the Keys made the in-between step last summer and performed at Roy Wilkins Auditorium, their most tepidly received show in years. However, their latest album, "El Camino," sounds specifically tailored to the bigger rooms with more of a brawny, fist-pumping flavor.
