After a melee at the Los Angeles premiere of the rave concert documentary “Electric Daisy Carnival Experience" the AMC and Regal theater chains have cancelled plans to screen the film. Nevertheless, it will show in the Twin Citiesfor one night only on Thursday as planned.

The movie documents this year’s lineup at the Electric Daisy Carnival, and electronic music festival featuring Moby, will.i.am, Swedish House Mafia and many other top electronic acts.
 
An impromptu block party outside the Chinese Theater at the film’s July 28 premiere caused a massive traffic jam on Hollywood Blvd., then turned unruly. The crowd threw bottles, overturned three squad cars and set one afire when riot police arrived.
 
The film had been scheduled for digital presentation on 522 screens Aug. 4, including the Eagan 16, Eden Prairie 18, Arbor Lakes Megastar 16, Block E 15, Brooklyn Center 20, Showplace ICON, Rosedale 14 and Oakdale Cinema.
 
If you’re curious to see what all the ruckus was about, the movie will screen as scheduled at the  Showplace Icon and Oakdale Cinema. Tickets are $15 at the box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com. The film is scheduled for DVD release by the end of the year. Here's the trailer:
