Yet another concert thrown into question because of the state government shutdown -- which forced Canterbury Park to close -- the local installment of the Warped Tour is going on as planned Sunday. The concert takes place again outside the horsetrack over on the so-called Canterbury Park Festival Field (where Soundset was also held), and it obviously doesn't involve the state racing board, whose management prompted the track's closure. Some of us like to bet on the side over which Warped skateboarder is going to eat the pavement first, but that's not government sanctioned.

Now in its 17th year and seemingly unstoppable, the daylong rockathon will thus kick off as usual at noon. Tickets are now $40 and can be bought at Down in the Valley locations or through Ticketweb. The lineup this year is a bit lackluster, with Less Than Jake, Pepper, Asking Alexandria, the Devil Wears Prada, Relient K, Foxy Shazam, Lucero, the Ready Set and the Wonder Years among the (barely) noteworthy names. But hey, at least it's happening.
