The Beach Boys' "The Smile Sessions" will be released later this year by Capitol Records. It will feature material from the aborted 1967 project. Beach Boys mastermind Brian Wilson re-recorded his own version in 2004 but this 2-CD set (or a four-CD boxed set) will arrive with the blessing of Wilson and the other surviving members of the Beach Boys. No release date is set. In addition to issuing the Butch Vig-produced "Wasting Light" on April 12, the Foo Fighters will release a second album, "Medium Rare," a vinyl-only covers album for Record Store Day on April 16. The Foos will cover Wings, Cream, Pink Floyd and others. Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore will drop a solo album, "Demolished Thoughts," on May 24, produced by Beck….
