Charice

Move over, Justin Bieber. There's a new teenage sensation on the scene. Charice Pempengco, a superstar in the Philippines, but best known stateside for a guest appearance on "Glee," was the surprise guest at an intimate concert from composer/producer David Foster, who will be part of another PBS special featuring his music. Charice nailed a version of "All By Myself," hitting a high note that almost shattered the wine glasses among the hundred or so of us in the crowd.

Foster, who's been behind some of the bombastic, corny music of the 70s and 80s, was actually quite charming Sunday night in a Vegas-act sort of way, playing snippets of some of his biggest hits ("Got to Be Real," "The Glory of Love") with commentary on each of his three ex-wives.

Foster, who doesnt' have the greatest of voices, was later aided by Donna Summer in a terrible version of "Unbreak My Heart" and then a tearing-down-the-roof version of "The Last Dance," which Foster originally played on when he was a studio musician.

Summer was great, but it's Charice's voice that keeps ringing in my ears...
