Vita.mn present the Hotness 2010 gala at Graves 601 Hotel. Discover the finalists in this year's Hotness contest as Vita.mn announces them live from the stage at the Graves. The winners will be announced as issues hit stands the following morning.
The gala will feature passed hors d'oeuvres throughout the night, drink specials, giveaways and free samples courtesy of Vita.mn's many on-site partners including Crispin, Planet Beach, Smitten Kitten, OM Restaurant and more!
There will be live performances from Maria Isa, Harley Wood, the cast of "Rent," Batucada do Norte and more. Enjoy DJ sets from Gigamesh and The Nightstalker as well.

In this dual show from artist couple RM Hanson and Karen OÂBryan, the subject matter reliably focuses on those expected topics, but thereÂs some variety thanks to the conversely different styles of each artist. While HansonÂs horror and graphic novel-inspired illustrations emphasize the ugly, monstrous side of relationships, OÂBryanÂs pastel paintings of animal-headed human figures showcase a gentler, subtler take on love. If we accepted Roger Waters touring separately from the David Gilmour-led Pink Floyd, we can certainly accept two big-time Floyd tribute bands, right? The Australian Pink Floyd has wowed crowds at the Orpheum, and now comes the Pink Floyd Experience from San Diego. Leader and guitarist Tom Quinn has been doing Floyd live since 1994 but didnÂt put together PFX until 2003. The Shell Lake Arts Center in western Wisconsin annually hosts a great summer jazz camp for kids, and their faculty -- some of whom get to show off their skills this week -- has a lot of talented teachers with familiar faces, players you may have seen is such bands as JazzAx, Pete Whitman's X-Tet, Framework, etc. Violin wizard Randy Sabien is the best-known nationally, and he's joined by sax men Greg Keel and Michael Walk, trombonists Jeff Rinear and Phil Ostrander, and guitarist Chris Olson, among sundry others, several yet to be announced. Toss in a set by the hotshot teens of The Dakota Combo, and note the low cover charge. It should be good night for sound-sampling. Tom Surowicz

As Halloween, Alaska succinctly put it in an e-mail that compared sound engineers to airplane captains, music fans arenÂt supposed to know who A Benefit for Matt Lindquist is for. YouÂd only notice Lindquist if he was running a show into the ground. The for-hire audio tech to numerous local bands hit his own rough patch when an H1N1/pneumonia cocktail laid him up in the hospital.
