TV picks for July 5:  Taylor/Burton, "Bad Teacher,” "A Fiddler on the Roof”

Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor star in 1966’s “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?”

The Bickersons

Few spouses had more fun screaming at each other than Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. The Hollywood giants were nice enough to let us listen in on a few quarrels in a trio of movies: “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” (7 p.m.), “The Taming of the Shrew” (9:30 p.m.) and “The V.I.P.s” (11:45 p.m.). Bring earplugs. Saturday, TCM

Failing grades

“Bad Teacher,” the sitcom based on the Cameron Diaz movie, did such a fine job of living up to its title that CBS is dumping remaining new episodes onto the Saturday night landscape. Sitting through these leftovers is only slightly more tolerable than putting up with another hour of “Big Brother.” 7 p.m. Saturday, WCCO, Ch. 4

To life

Way above my head, I see the strangest sight: a hit musical that made a seamless transition to the big screen. “Fiddler on the Roof” remains an all-time favorite thanks to an energetic performance from Topol and faithful direction by Norman Jewison. 8 p.m. Saturday, TPT, Ch. 2
