After eight seasons, “Psych” is off the case. The lighthearted series may have never been a ratings blockbuster or a regular on the awards circuit, but it featured nice chemistry between stars James Roday and Dulé Hill. The one-hour finale will be followed by “Psych After Pshow,” featuring the series’ star and executive producer, Steve Franks. 8 p.m. USA

Wednesday night live

Both “Hot in Cleveland” (9 p.m.) and “The Soul Man” (9:30 p.m.) premiere with live episodes, a stunt that more sitcoms should try. Look for characters from each show to cross over to the other and a fair amount of surprises. TV Land

You know the famous line “Dr. Livingstone, I presume?” But do you have any idea who the dude is? Get your history lesson in “The Lost Diary of Dr. Livingstone,” an episode of “Secrets of the Dead” that takes an in-depth look at the African massacre he witnessed that may have ultimately led to the closing down of the world’s last open slave market. 9 p.m. TPT, Ch. 2
