Diane Lane signed her filing to divorce Josh Brolin on Valentine’s Day, court records show. Lane’s petition to end their marriage after eight and a half years was filed on Feb. 15.

Her filing, released Friday, lists irreconcilable differences for the couple’s breakup and lists Feb. 13 as their separation date. It does not indicate they have a prenuptial agreement. The actors have no children together. It was a second marriage for both when they tied the knot in August 2004.

Meanwhile, Brolin, 45, was photographed smiling along with a mystery woman Friday morning, TMZ reported.

Lane, 48, received an Oscar nomination for her performance in the 2002 film “Unfaithful” and co-stars in the upcoming Superman film “Man of Steel.” Brolin was Oscar-nominated for his performance in 2008’s “Milk” and recently starred in “Gangster Squad.”

Noted: Magic Slim, a younger contemporary of blues greats Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf who helped shape the sound of Chicago’s electric blues, died Thursday. He was 75. Magic Slim and his backing band, the Teardrops, performed a no-holds-barred brand of Chicago-style electric blues, led by his singing and guitar playing, and were regulars on the music festival circuit.

Slim’s given name was Morris Holt. The Mississippi native established himself in Chicago’s thriving blues community in the 1960s, but more recently lived in Lincoln, Neb. He died shortly after midnight Thursday at a Philadelphia hospital, said his manager, Marty Salzman. He had been in declining health. Salzman said.
