Freezing rain fell as I parked my car at the hotel last night. I woke up this morning to find it topped with slush. As I drove t the ballpark, more freezing rain fell.

Just a crummy morning in C-Town.

But the Twins have a chance to do something they haven't done yet this season, and that's win a series on the road. Tyler Duffey is on the mound for the Twins facing Trevor Bauer. And THAT brings up a not-so-old story.

Last Oct. 1, I met a buddy for lunch in a spot just outside downtown Cleveland. As we talked, Duffey walked in. He found the restaurant on Yelp and Ubered his way from the hotel. We chatted briefly, then he ate quickly and left. Five minutes later, Trevor Bauer walked in. Bauer used to live in the neighborhood and was familiar with the place. We chatted for a minute, then we left.

Duffey was facing Bauer that day, which was quite the coincidence. And, as the Twins try to take two of three games from the Indians this weekend, we have another Duffey-Bauer showdown.

Wonder where they ate breakfast this morning?

Waiting to see the lineups today. Maybe Juan Centeno gets another start after cranking out a two-run homer on Saturday.

The Twins actually are 3-2 against Cleveland this season having won two of three at Target Field then splitting the first two games of the series here. Saturday's game was the first game of the season series to not be a one-run affair. The Twins have found a team they can hang with.

The rain/snow/slush is expected to end by gametime, and the forecast calls for highs in the upper 40's.

Twins manager Paul Molitor decided to Centeno another start after his two-run homer on Saturday. The manager also shook up the lineup elsewhere, including giving birthday boy Brian Dozier a day off.. Dozier turns 29 today.
