You may have caught this obit:
Oscar-winning Italian film producer Dino De Laurentiis, who brought to the big screen nearly 500 films including "Serpico," "Three Days of the Condor" and "King Kong," died in Los Angeles aged 91, Italian media said on Thursday. De Laurentiis produced several Italian classics in collaboration, including Federico Fellini's "La Strada," for which he won an Oscar in 1957.

So long, and thanks for all the fun schlock. In the 80s, his name on the opening credits of a VHS rental tape was your personal guarantee of some fine noisy cheese. But perhaps the name is known now for his offspring, which brings us to this piece on Star magazine’s site:

Multiple sources tell Star that John has shared hot nights with sexy Food Network star Giada De Laurentiis, as we report in our Nov. 22 issue. Last month, John and Giada — who has a 2-year-old daughter with her husband of seven years, Anthropologie fashion designer Todd Thompson — were seen together at the Boom Boom Room at The Standard hotel in New York.

“John had one hand on the small of her back," an eyewitness tells Star. "They looked like two people who were going to go home together.”

Later that night, another eyewitness saw them at the nearby Hotel Gansevoort, where they disappeared into a suite together!

Please. This is the Star we’re talking about, sor read it into the mirror in reverse order to get the actual story. Meyer has denied it. Giada has denied it.

Probably pained him more to say it.
